Paradise Chapter 7:

Hey! It’s time for a new post, YES! Favourite part of my day is writing. :’)

Someone on my ask already cracked the mystery mashallah! I won’t say what she said cause I was planning to write this part ages ago but I hope you anonymous genius will enjoy the reading story anyway! Xo

Thanks to RM for an idea in this post about the parents! This one's for you. x

Previously in Chapter 6:

And just like that, I heard the locks and my heart began to beat furiously. The pain was throbbing but the fear was back.

“Hamdan, n-no!” I croaked out in fear, I looked up and had found Deep Voice standing in front of Hamdan, looking calm and collected. His following words haunted me but he said it so easily and coolly, a hint of a smile in his voice, a mischievous smile.

“Someone called me?”
-

“Eee ana, yal k*lb,” Hamdan spat at Deep Voice in anger.

“Shtabe yal athwal?” He smirked.

“Hamdan, la2 allah yekhaleek le etsawe shay!” I begged while the others watched in fear.

“He hurt you! Tabeene ag3ad chithe w ana sakit?!” Hamdan turned around to reply but at the same time, Deep Voice took it as a chance to punch Hamdan forcefully into his back, causing Hamdan to fall back onto the ground.

“Hamdan!” I screamed and watched Hamdan hurry while he tried to stand up from the ground, ignoring how the floor hit his jaw and caused his lip tear open, the blood oozing out in front of my eyes.

Hamdan reached out to grab the mask off of Deep Voice’s face but Deep Voice was far too quick for him, he pushed his hard knuckles into Hamdan’s face, Deep Voice’s golden ring grinded up against Hamdan’s bare skin, slicing it open.

“Mi7sen! Help him!” I heard Muneera hiss in fright but once I looked back, Mi7sen was in the far corner with a frightful expression on his face. H froze in his place, unable to move.

I crawled towards them as they fought, they didn’t pay any attention to me, I heard Muneera try to whisper that I should come back but I ignored her. As Hamdan and Deep Voice were trying to throw punches at each other, I grabbed Deep Voice’s leg, hugging it, forcing him to stick to his position as Hamdan successfully punched his fist into his mask. A part of the mask was torn apart by the sudden punch, I got an image of Deep Voice’s tanned skin, he had a slight beard and I was so close to seeing the rest of his face but he caught me, he pushed his foot into my face, forcing me to et go of his whole leg once a shot of pain hit my jaw once again.

“Jawaa!” Muneera yelled out, running over to my side to help me up from the ground.

I didn’t see what was going on anymore, my vision started to become blurry, all I heard were the shouts and screams of men fighting and the occasional punches and grunts.

Everything began to spiral in front of me, the walls began to dance, the floor began to sing and the air around me froze up against me.

And soon, blackness swept over me and engulfed me into its dark embrace.

-

“3lyaa2! 3ALYAA2!”  Faris called his wife from the top of his lungs. He knew his wife had been trapped in her bedroom ever since the kidnapping, crying constantly and demanding that her daughter would be brought back by today but Faris remained strong, he was the man of the house and he was expected to be the family’s anchor.

The police had just left and were done questioning the family, Faris wanted his wife to come down already once the men was gone but she wouldn’t reply to his calls.

“3alyaa2!” He yelled once again but no reply.

“Yuba, omy ma ra7 etrid 3laik khala9,” Joury, his daughter sighed. Her eyelids were swollen with puffiness from all the crying she had been doing too but she remained by her father’s side throughout the whole day. Faris sighed as well and sat next to his daughter on the couch, staring at the chandelier that remained above them, the crystals glinting with the lights.

“Yuba,” Joury murmured, staring at the glinting chandelier above them, as if it held all of the hope they had in its tiny perfect diamond resembling crystals.

“Halla 7beebty?” Faris replied, his tone sad.

“Tetwaqa3 benelgaha?” Her voice had bits of hope hidden behind it but she tried to sound mature and strong, wanting to act as the role of the eldest in the family.

“Akeed benelgaha!”

“How are you so sure?” This time, she sounded young, like a lost and confused child. It broke her father’s heart.

“Bas goulay enshallah 7beebty, bas goulay enshallah nelgaha,” Faris tried not to tear up but he lost every ounce of strength inside him, the tears filled his eyes and his daughter noticed them straight away, causing her eyes to fill up with tears as well. Joury grabbed her Dad’s arm, hugging it as close as possible as they began to cry quietly, trying to imagine that Jawaa’s presence was still existent in the house.

But sadly, it wasn’t.

-

“Jawaa? Jawaa! Goumay!” Muneera’s voice filled the darkness up with light, bringing me back up, pushing the unconsciousness away.

“Hmm?” I groaned, lost. Wasn’t it too early to wake up for school? And why the heck does everything hurt? “Is it school time?”

“No Jawaa…” Muneera said, her tone sounding sad. Once my eyes shot open, I saw the empty room and the black painted walls; they brought back the memories I forgot about for a few beautiful seconds. The memories hurt; it felt unfortunate that I couldn’t delete them with an easy click of a button.

“Oh,” I sighed and winced at the same time, the pain unbearable to handle. I was laying on Manour’s lap but I could see at the corner of my eye Hamdan lying down on the floor, he was bruised all over his face and blood drenched his what used to be was a white crisp uniform shirt.  He lay unconscious and Mi7sen sat next to him, trying to dab his blazer over his cousin’s face, cleaning him up.

“W-what happened?” I whispered.

“The kidnapper beat him up pretty badly, you’re lucky you fainted before he could do anything else to you. He was so angry, Mi7sen didn’t do anything but to be honest he’s smart to not have done anything or else that kidnapper would have called his other friends in with him to cause a bigger fight,” Muneera murmured quietly.

“Is he okay?” I called out to Mi7sen. Mi7sen looked up, his face looking tired and definitely worried.

“He will be enshallah, are you okay? El7emdellah g3dtay!” Mi7sen gave me a sad smile.

“Eee I am, just a few bruises, nothing I can’t handle,” I forced a smile back.

“Malet 3laikom ana ga3d tara,” Hamdan groaned.

“Hamdan!” We all surprisingly called out, seeing him wince over and over again in pain as he tried to sit up properly.

“Shfeekom metfaj2een y3ne?” Hamdan seemed bored; he pushed Mi7sen’s hands away from his face, not wanting his help.

“Shfeek ga3d tetmathel ena mu tawa that b*atard beat you up?” Mi7sen looked to his cousin strangely.

“Because he doesn’t get the benefit of hearing me whine and cry from his lousy skills in punching,” Hamdan winced once again, trying to crack his neck.

“You are unbelievable,” I managed to laugh, ignoring the pain I felt in my jaw as I did so.

“That’s a good thing, right?” Hamdan grinned, his left eye all swollen and purple but his handsome face was still intact.

“Yeah yeah,” I smiled. “How much of a mess do I look like right now?” I turned my face around to face Muneera to ask her.

“Uhm, you’re swollen shway and bruises are on your cheek bas tara walla it’s not that bad Jawaa!” Muneera tried to comfort me.

“You look perfect, mafeech shay Jawaa,” Mi7sen interrupted our conversation. I blushed slightly but ignored it.

“Mr Romance,” Hamdan teased Mi7sen but his tone wasn’t as playful, he sounded slightly mad for some reason.

“Thanks Mi7sen,” I gave him a genuine smile.

“Just being honest,” he shrugged in reply.

“Waai Mi7sen, etghazil wayed! W el mshkela, you have the worst timing in the world!” Muneera exclaimed, laughing at Mi7sen’s embarrassed shy face. Muneera was 14 and rather young but she had the bravery of a lion sometimes, she would throw the most ridiculous phrases and words in people’s faces without a care in the world.

“I totally agree,” Hamdan joined in, enjoying Muneera’s words.

“You guys!” I laughed, once again ignoring the pain.

“I was just trying to make Jawaa feel better, okay? Just admit that you guys are jealous that I’m not trying to do the same for you guys,” Mi7sen huffed.

“Yeah and I wonder why it’s only Jawaa you’re trying to cheer up, w e7na?! Haa Mi7sen?!” Muneera teased some more.

“Hey, save the best for last, right Manour?” He gave Muneera a seductive wink and I could have sworn I saw her blush for a second, becoming tongue tied before she said the following words:

“Waiii, 9ej Mr Romance. You’re too much of a flirt!” Muneera shot back at him, laughing again.

“You guys,” I suddenly said.

“Halla?” They all replied at the same time.

“Tara ye3t,” I sighed.

“Offhh, 3ad elyoum ghadana mchbous!” Hamdan excitedly exclaimed but his smile vanished after a second, once he realized that he wasn’t on his way home any time soon and he wouldn’t be able to get a taste of his mother’s cooking.

Silence.

“We need to get out of here,” I finally said.

“How?” Muneera asked.

“I think I have a plan.”

Paradise Chapter 6:

Hey, I’m in an awful mood today but I still wanted to write for you all. It’s short but it’s better than nothing. I hope you guys enjoy this chapter.

Dedicated to the beautiful Nabila who dmed me today, wanting to know more about the story haha! xo

-

Previously in Chapter 5:

“I can imagine you Hamdan with make-up on so accurately that it scares me,” Muneera said in between laughs.

“Manour!” Hamdan groaned.

“I told you it was a good look on you,” Mi7sen chuckled. Before we could continue on joking around and laugh some more, a sound startled us.

The door was pushed open by a figure in a dragon’s mask, silencing our laughs and causing our smiles to vanish in seconds.

“You, you’re coming with me,” Deep Voice called out with his finger pointing straight at one person.

That one person being me.

-

“G3day!” I was pushed down to a chair in front of me. He had pulled me by my arm a few seconds ago in such a hurry that I only got snippets of my surroundings. It was a tiny hallway, not like the longer one I saw in the other house, this one looked like a tiny apartment and he had forced me into another room that actually had furniture. It had a desk on the right hand corner, a bed in with plaid patterned sheets tucked into it and simply lamp besides it. It didn’t look like a room someone actually lived in, more like a room someone had just rented.

Deep Voice stood in front of me, we were both alone in the room and I was terrified to bits. A few minutes ago Mi7sen and Hamdan were about to wrestle the guy down to the floor to stop him from taking me but he had a gun in his hand, which meant we were powerless.

“W entay laish ma tet7achain?!” Deep Voice snapped at me through his Dragon’s mask.

“At7acha 3an shnu?” I croaked.

“You’re the Ameer’s granddaughter! Ugh, that b*stard didn’t tell me that,” Deep Voice hissed the last few words under his breath. I stared back at him, clueless to what he exactly wanted.

“Shfeech sakta chithe ga3da etkhizeeny? T7echay!” He took a step closer, looking violent. I was terrified; it only silenced me even more.

“GELTCH T7ECHAY!”  He shouted more forcefully now, very close to easily punch me in the face but he had his hands clenched, trying to control himself.

“Sh-shagoul?” I stuttered.

“Is it true?” He hissed.

“Y-yes. I’m his granddaughter.”

Sh*t.”

“W-what?”

“You know how much trouble we’ll be in now because of you little brat?!” He spat at me.

“It’s not like I told you to kidnap me!” I snapped at him, my anger taking control.

What the hell was his problem?! 7asesny ena the kidnapping was my idea!

“Kalmeeny 3adl!” He grabbed a fistful of my hair and I winced, remembering how painful his hands were.

“S-s-sorry,” I sobbed, the tears clouding my vision. I felt his hand relax and soon, his fingers let go of wisps of my light coloured hair.

“Okay tara besich bachee, walla maleina,” Deep Voice said sarcastically but the anger from his voice disappeared.

“S-sorry,” I croaked out again, the tears not listening to him, they kept flowing out my eyes.

“You’re staying here tonight,” he ignored the rest of my tears and grabbed some rope from the cabinet behind him, while he had his back to me; I did the craziest and probably stupidest thing I’ve ever done.

I stood up slowly from my seat; he was bent down into the cabinet, pushing the clothes to the side to look for the rope. As he was doing this, I snaked my hand into the holster that was attached from his pants and pulled the gun out as quickly as I could. My fingers trembled in fear and he had whipped around at the same time, freezing in his spot.

“You little lying b*tch,” he hissed, seeing the gun in my hand as I aimed it fearfully towards him.

“La etgarib!” I hissed, watching his foot slide closer towards me. “Or e-else I’ll shoot you!”

“Oh really? Yalla, shoot me,” he smirked as if I was bluffing.

I had no idea what to do with the gun and it felt weirdly light in my hands, as if it was easy to use. I was too scared to even try to fire but he kept growing closer and closer, I was walking backwards, away from him but soon the wall was against my back and I was trapped.

I squeezed my eyes shut and pressed my finger on the trigger hard and waited for the bullet to fire but all I heard was a click.

And water squirted out of the gun, wetting my fingers.

Deep Voice laughed so hard that I doubted for a second that he was even mad; I stared at the gun in my hand once my eyes were open.

All this time, the gun was fake?!

“Walla ench ghabeya!” Deep Voice kept laughing and I dropped the gun to the floor, my hands still shaking.

Jawaa, you are so freaking stupid.

“The real gun’s in that cabinet behind me, incase you ever think of actually shooting me for real,” he kept on laughing.

“I-I,” I stuttered, leaning back against the wall, too scared to move or say an actual word.

“Phew, I haven’t laughed this hard in a while,” he breathed out and the laughs had dissolved away. “Now, what to do with a little b*tch like you?” His voice turned serious, deadly serious.

“P-please, I-I’m sorry!” I begged. “P-please don’t h-hurt me.”

I squeezed my eyes shut tightly once I saw his hands grab my shoulders. He turned me around and pushed me up against the wall so my left cheek was grinding over the hard exterior of the painted walls of the room. I felt his body press up against mine from behind as he hissed into my ear with the following words:

“Mess with me one more time and I’ll kill you, got it?”

“I-I won’t d-do it again!” I sobbed.

He ignored me and pulled me backwards before pushing me into the wall, crushing my face into it, as if it was a piece of object. The pain hit my jaw before it hit my head, trickles of blood touched my lips and I accidentally licked some of it when I sucked in a lungful of oxygen. Salty and sweet, mixed in with my tears.

“P-please stop!” I screamed through the pain. He ignored me and held me by my arm next, throwing me down to the floor. My face hit the floor first, the carpeted floor thankfully didn’t damage me as much as the wall did but my ankle became twisted and a shot of pain filled my bones.

“Offfh,” I grunted, my face breathing in the dusty scent of the olive coloured carpet. His fingers grabbed my hair, using it to pull me off of the ground and pieces of my hair had been pulled out, the pain becoming unbearable.

I had my eyes shut the whole time but what it only did was make me concentrate on the pain more. It was pure hell. HELL.

Every part of me began to throb of pain and my face was wet of blood and tears, the blood oozing out of my lips and head.

“P-please stop,” I shrieked out in pain, his fingers were forcefully pulling out the strands of my hair. I couldn’t take it anymore. “PLEASE!”

“W etha gelt mabe?” He hissed.

“I’ll do anything you want!” I sobbed, the pain hitting me in every angle.

“Anything?”

“ANYTHING!” I shrieked and finally, he let go of me, I automatically fell back down to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.

“I’m keeping your word on that Jawaa Al-X,” I could hear the evil grin in his voice.

I had my fingers dug deep into my scalp, trying to soothe it but once I took my fingers out of my hair, I saw spots of blood on my fingers from the amount of damage he put me through. It only made me cry harder.

He watched me, enjoying my pain. All I did was give him what he wanted, my vulnerability, my fear, I didn’t put up a hard exterior, I was too weak to put it back up anymore.

“Yalla thelfay, mabe ashouf wayhech el z*g. BU SALEM! T3AL!” He called out in a loud voice. I wasn’t paying attention to anything, all I heard next was the door push open and a pair of hands forced me off of the floor.

Bu Salem was violent and rough, not caring that I was bleeding. He pulled me out of the room in a hurry, it felt like seconds as he pushed me back into the dark room were the others were, locking me, trapping me back inside.

“Jawaa!” They all cried out in surprise, seeing the blood and tears. I was back on the ground and I remained there, sobbing silently as they crowded around me.

“Jawaa, what happened?!” Muneera cried out, her hands touching my shoulders, trying to calm me down but I flinched to her hands. I was shaking.

“Jawaa?” Mi7sen whispered, sounding worried.

“WALLA K*LB!” I heard Hamdan yell out in frustration, he marched over to the door, banging on it, trying to open it but was failing.

“FET7AW EL BAB!” He screamed.

“Hamdan, stop it!” Mi7sen shouted.

“FET7AW EL BAB! ANA AWAREEKOM! YAL 7M*R ADRY ENK MAWJOUD!” Hamdan screamed at the top of his lungs.

Paradise, Chapter 5:

The second chapter today! I know I took ages with it but thanks to the beautiful Hessa who inspired me, I finally got to write it.

Hope you enjoy this small chapter as a bedtime story.

-

Previously in Chapter 4:

Hamdan glared at him, he was about to speak, I saw his mouth open for a second but then Mi7sen bumped his shoulder, obviously telling him silently to shut up.

Bu Salem freed us from the ropes but made sure that the guys were last, he didn’t want them to do anything funny or try to attack him. He had his gun aimed at us to stop us from even touching him or fighting back as he edged away slowly towards the door.

“No funny business,” he said, his gun pointed right at us. We all stared back at him, waiting for the bullet but instead, he grabbed the doorknob, ready to shut us inside but before he locked us in the small windowless room, he said the following words that caused a shiver to trail down my back.

“Welcome to Paradise.”

-

“I was seated at the far corner, my head into my knees and Muneera sat right besides me, holding onto my left arm, she would sob every half an hour and then go back to sleep, it was her way of coping but mine was remaining wide awake and silent, staring into the dark.

The boys left us alone, giving us our space but for once I wanted someone to be there for me. Being alone terrified me, Muneera was too young to understand and was too vulnerable, all I could do was comfort her with a hug and Hamdan was too mad to even speak to anyone, he kept punching his fist into the wall every few minutes to relieve his anger.

It was Mi7sen who approached me.

“Hey, Jawaa?” He hissed, I had my face dug into my knees. I was acting asleep, I didn’t reply, I simply waited for him to continue speaking.

“Jawaa? Ga3da?” Mi7sen softly whispered once again.

“Haa? Eee ga3da ga3da,” I finally got out of my little cave and faced him. He was sitting next to me in the same position, his arms hugging his legs and his masculine face resting over his knees.

“Are you okay?”  His dark eyes were hard to make out in the dark but they seemed to easily blend with our surroundings, I couldn’t read his expression but his tone sounded worried.

“Eee,” I nodded, whispering back, not wanting wake Muneera up. I caught Hamdan’s eyes staring at us, he was leaning back against the wall, watching us in the corner of his eyes. When I caught him, he quickly looked away.

“Your wrists are bleeding,” he pointed out, looking down at my hands when I was automatically rubbing them, unconscious of what I was doing.

“Yeah,” I hid them but he put a hand over my arm, stopping me.

“Ana mu makheth biology for no reason,” he gave me a smile and ripped a piece of his shirt, well he tried to but he failed at it. He only ripped the corner of his uniform and so; it wasn’t enough material to wrap around my wrists.

“Okay so it didn’t work out like how it works out in the movies when the hero saves the girl,” Mi7sen laughed causing me to smile.

“It’s not the movies or else the guy would save the girl already and we’d both be back home, happily ever after,” I sighed, looking away. I watched Hamdan, he was pacing around, his fists clenched together.

“Shfeeh?” I asked, my eyes on Hamdan.

“Em3a9eb, ohwa brou7a 3a9aby fa yabeela wakt so he can calm down,” Mi7sen seemed uninterested in his cousin. “Dgeega khan ajarib mara thanya.”

Mi7sen tried to rip his shirt again, this time half of it got ripped so his bare stomach showed. He had a muscled stomach but no six-pack, if the girls were here, they would have all gossiped about it. They had a tendency of wondering who had a six-pack and who didn’t have one in the whole school.

Mi7sen sure didn’t but it was toned.

I giggled to myself, remembering the girls.

“Haaa, y3ne yi’9a7ek 3ndech?” Mi7sen smiled, hearing me laugh but I wasn’t laughing at him.

“7aram 3laich Jawaa la etfashleen el walad, I bet he’s totally crushing on you!”

I could hear Maha say, if she was here to watch this.

Suddenly, the tears began to flow, they wouldn’t stop and I began to sob just at the thought of Maha.

“Yal ghabe shsaweit al7een?!” I heard Hamdan call out, scolding his younger cousin.

“Walla ma saweit shay! Kanet ga3da te’97ak!” Mi7sen seemed confused. I couldn’t stop the tears, as embarrassed as I felt for suddenly breaking down.

“Jawaa?” Mi7sen put a hand on my shoulder but I flinched, touching me only reminded me of the kidnapper’s hands on me and it freaked me out.

“La etjees’ha! Mu kafee ga3da tabche? Hfff Mi7sen, you always know how to f*ck things up, don’t you?” I heard Hamdan argue.

“Hamdan shfeek ent? Ga3da a7awl asa3dha! As if you know how to help, it’s all your fault that she got hurt in the first place, if you only listened to them then she and Manour would have never gotten hurt in the first place.”

“Mi7sen-“

“STOP!” The sudden outburst startled all of us. I took my head out of my knees, not caring about the tears messing up my face and looked to Muneera in surprise.

“Can you guys stop fighting already? God, boys are such idiots I swear!” Muneera exclaimed, her words headed towards Mi7sen and Hamdan.

“Manour heday-“ Hamdan began to speak but he got cut off.

“Shes crying because she misses her friends, okay? It’s nothing you did Mi7sen and for God’s sakes stop flirting with her, walla mu wakta tara,” Muneera began to roll her eyes, it was as if her sad façade had evaporated and her annoyance had taken over. Hamdan smirked when Muneera mentioned the flirting but I blushed in embarrassment.

“W Hamdan, we get it, you’re the eldest bas mu m3nata lazem et3a9b kel dgeega l2ena jad, and it’s nothing helping the situation.”

“Enshallah Miss Muneera,” Hamdan had a smile on his face, not looking angry at all but Mi7sen looked super annoyed. I felt sorry for him; he was just trying to help out.

“Mi7sen, thank you,” I dried the tears with the back of my hands and looked down at the piece of his shirt lying next to me. I took it and wrapped it around my wrists, after I was done, I gave him Mi7sen a grateful smile that he replied with a nod and smile before going back to his seat, away from us to give us our space.

“La7tha w entay sh3rfch Manour?” Hamdan suddenly asked.

“Sh3rfny eb shnu?” Muneera replied.

“Why Jawaa got upset.”

“I’m a girl, duuuuuuhhh,” Muneera’s child-ness came back and Hamdan laughed at her reply.

“You too Hamdan, yalla give us our girl space,” Muneera said, meaning that he should go and sit back in his place and not bother us. I laughed at her attitude, feeling better, having a girl on my side now.

Hamdan chuckled. “Asfeen asfeen bas etha taboun ay shay, e7na mawjoudeen tara. We’re just a second away, literally.”

“We know,” Muneera laughed.

“It’s good to have you back,” I smiled at Muneera once the guys left us alone. I squeezed her hand in mine and she smiled back, a sad smile but her face seemed strong and capable, no longer vulnerable.

After ten minutes of silence, one of the boys spoke up.

“Okay Manour w Jawaa, khale9taw men your girl space stuff or whatever?” Mi7sen suddenly asked, he looked depressed; sitting alone in his corner and Hamdan was too annoyed at him to keep him company.

“Mi7sen!” Hamdan hissed.

“Shnuuuu? Walla zahegt, ley meta ag3ad brou7e chithe w ana saket?” Mi7sen sighed, running his fingers through his hair.

“You can come back,” Muneera finally decided. Mi7sen was first to walk over but Hamdan stayed back, not bothering to join us.

“Hamdan, tara haman enta tegder tyee teg3ad wyana,” Muneera looked at Hamdan, standing alone.

“Laa 3ade, ana t3ban shway,” Hamdan laid back on the ground, there weren’t any furniture, and it was just us and the room itself.

“Okay,” Muneera shrugged.

“Haa shraykom nel3ab truth or dare?” Mi7sen finally suggested.

“Walla mu chena we just got kidnapped Mi7sen?” I asked him, finding it so strange that he’s so chipper and normal about everything.

“Hey, do you want to be depressed and lonely for the next God knows how many hours or do you want to do something more fun?” Mi7sen looked straight at me and I couldn’t argue, he clearly had a point.

“Okay fine, I pick truth,” I surrendered.

“I’ll ask.” Mi7sen offered. “Hmm, what to ask Jawaa Al-X?” He grinned.

“Yalla 3ad khale9naa,” I huffed.

“Okay okay, on Valentine’s Day in high school, did you ever send anyone a rose?” Mi7sen asked.

Every year on Valentine’s Day, our school allows us to wear regular clothing instead of uniforms to the day and we get to pay in advance for roses to be sent to people, we can do this anonymously or write our names on the card but we had to write the person’s name, to whom we wanted to send the rose to.

And every year, people would show off about how many roses they’d got. But most of them sent roses to themselves (yes you could even send one to yourself).

“Uhm,” I awkwardly said.

“Yalla goulayyyy,” Mi7sen seemed interested now.

“La2 bas ma agder agoul, fashlaaa umbay,” I covered my face in my hands which only grabbed more of his and Muneera’s attention to listen to my answer.

“Yallaa!” Muneera and Mi7sen both urged me to answer.

“Absolutely no one,” I laughed and showed them my face by taking my hands off of them.

“7ilfay!” They both exclaimed.

“Walla I didn’t give anyone a rose on V-Day,” I swore.

“Weeeh maleeqa, enzain?” Muneera whined.

“Yalla, truth or dare Mi7sen?” I laughed at their reactions.

“Dare,” Mi7sen’s eyes challenged me.

“Akeed ya Mi7sen, akeed?” I cocked an eyebrow at him, challenging him right back.

“Akeedain, yallaa dare me. Anything.”

“I dare you to tickle Hamdan while he’s asleep,” I whispered, still not sure if Hamdan was really asleep or not, I didn’t want him overhearing me.

“Done,” Mi7sen easily said. Muneera and I began to giggle, watching Mi7sen get up and approach Hamdan slowly. He tried to be as discreet and quiet as possible, he bent over Hamdan’s sleeping body and his fingers tickled Hamdan’s stomach. Before Mi7sen could even touch Hamdan’s stomach, Hamdan grabbed his hand and twisted it.

“Aaa77!” Mi7sen cried out in pain. Muneera and I began to laugh. Hamdan’s eyes shot open and he watched Mi7sen, laughing too.

“Ent mu nayem?!” Mi7sen exclaimed, trying to not cry out in pain once again.

“I never sleep when I’m in the same room as you, lal7een ma neseit shsaweit feene last year bel shaleih,” Hamdan finally let go of Mi7sen and looked back at us, we quickly avoided his eyes, being guilty of the dare.

“Ohhhh, shsaweit Mi7sen?!” Manour asked.

“Agoulehom?” Mi7sen’s eyes were mischievous as they met Hamdan’s serious ones.

“Ya wailk Mi7sen!”

“I dare you Hamdan to tell us,” I finally said.

“I’m not playing the game,” Hamdan looked over at me, he sat up from his position to see us properly.

“You were eavesdropping on us so then yes, you are playing. Yalla, we dare you.”

“Eeee we do!” Muneera join in.

“Eee yalla Hamdan,” Mi7sen joined last.

“W etha ma t7echait, ra7 t7inoun 3lay, mu 9a7?” Hamdan sighed.

“Exactly,” we all said together, laughing.

“Okay okay, ana w Mi7sen kena bel Shaleih, we were sharing the same room and I fell asleep first. I woke up and I was covered in ketchup literally, head to toe and there was make up all over my face, I looked like a mess and the worst part is? Mi7sen locked the bathrooms so I was forced to go outside to the pool where the rest of our family was to look for Mi7sen since he had the keys. Fashelny jedam el kil!” Hamdan began to explain, his hands moving as his words began to pour out.

“Best. Day. Ever.” Mi7sen laughed and we all joined in, laughing hysterically.

“Worst. Day. Ever.” Hamdan rolled his eyes.

“Yalla 3ad, shd3wa, I bet you looked great with your face all made up with lipstick and eyeliner,” I teased.

“Jawaa, don’t even go there,” Hamdan’s face looked pained as he remembered that day.
